Numerous listed buildings bear witness to an eventful past. The market square with the "Old Town Hall" and beautiful half-timbered houses is a good starting point to discover Erwitte on your own. From there you go to the Königshof from the time of Charlemagne. Emperors and kings stopped here in the Middle Ages. The tour continues to the Romanesque parish church of St. Laurentius, with its mighty tower a landmark of the town. Your way leads you to the former ancestral home and hunting lodge of the Counts of Landsberg, built around 1600 in Renaissance style.
