The district of Sundwig has been an important industrial location since the 17th century with its metal processing plants. The Sundwig mill is the last water mill still in operation in the Märkischer Kreis.
The dripstone cave "Heinrichshöhle" is developed as a show cave. Among other things, a completely preserved cave bear skeleton can be visited there.
The neighboring geotope Felsenmeer, a rock formation formed by collapsed caves in the karst area, is also a popular destination.
