The single-track, non-electrified Altenhundem-Wenholthausen railroad line (now Eslohe municipality) passed this site.
The last passenger train run on the line took place on May 28, 1964. In 1967/1968, the line between Schmallenberg and Altenhundem was demolished.
Today, the still preserved railroad tracks are home to the Sauerland Cycle Ring with the
Fledermaustunnel near Finnentrop-Serkenrode.
