Lippstadt - Hörste - Öchtringhausen

Lippstadt stands for more than 825 years of history, historical buildings, half-timbered idyll, special stories and its own art treasures. Hörste was first mentioned in a document in 881, and the local St. Martinus church gives the district its very special charm. Built around the year 1150, it is one of the oldest churches in the archdiocese of Paderborn.

Nearby is the "Dreiländereck" with the court site "Zum freien Stuhl". At this place the districts of Paderborn, Gütersloh and Soest meet. In addition, a triangular stone reminds of the court place "Zum freien Stuhl". In the Middle Ages, only "freemen" as well as counts and other sovereigns were tried here. The historical site is located in a beautiful, varied natural landscape.
