The worldwide unique green sandstone ensemble "Altstadt Soest" makes the centuries come alive. The fact that the city was one of the most important cities in Westphalia during the Hanseatic League is documented by famous churches, a city wall that still exists in parts and valuable art treasures. A total of around 600 buildings in the old town area alone are listed as historic monuments. Numerous restaurants, cafés, historic pubs and rustic Biergartens invite you to linger.
