From here you can see the three villages of Soest's northwest: To the south is Hattrop, first mentioned in a document in 1186 and a successful participant in the "Our Village Has a Future" competition.
In the north lies Meckingsen. This place name first appears in 1170. Meckingsen is known because of the insemination station. Remarkable in Hattropholsen, the village in the west, is the nature reserve "Alte Klärteiche".
The 1000 year old farmstead "Am Dörmen" is located in the eastern direction.
